German stock market has, all together, ten stock exchanges.
Despite there being several stock exchanges, the biggest one by far is the Frankfurt stock exchange. It trades about 90 percent of the total turnover in the German market. The stock exchanges in Germany are: Frankfurt stock exchange, Munchen stock exchange, Stuttgart stock exchange, Hanover stock exchange, Berlin stock exchange, Bavarian stock exchange, Dusseldorf stock exchange, Bremen stock exchange, Deutsche Terminborse and Hamburg stock exchange.Frankfurt stock exchange is in fact owned by Deutsche Borse which in turn also owns the Eurex futures exchange. Behind Frankfurt, the next largest stock exchange in Germany is the Stuttgart stock exchange. The Berlin-Bremen stock exchange (or just Berlin Stock Exchange as it is unofficially often called), is the result of a merger between the stock exchanges in Berlin and Bremen in 2003. The exchange has been increasingly important for Eastern European issuers, as it is one of the most important trading centers for foreign securities in Germany.
