Currency Exchange Rate History

Currency exchange rate history resources include online forex databases and central bank websites.

One of the most used online resources for historical forex information is the one from OANDA (oanda.com/convert/fxhistory).

That service is called "FXHistory", at it allows you to obtain historical exchange rates for a multitude of currency pairs.

What is even better, you can get the historical exchange rates for the rates for different types of situations, including cash, interbank, and credit card forex rates.

The data formats available are ASCII, CSV and HTML format.

On top of online databases, you can also get historical rates from almost all of the available central banks and their websites, including the European Central Bank and U.S. Federal Reserve.

For example, the Bank of Canada (www.bankofcanada.ca/en/exchange-look.htm) has a 10-year lookup for historical rates for a range of currencies against the Canadian Dollar.

Similarly, you can get historical rates for a range of currencies against the U.S. dollar from the Federal Reserve at federalreserve.gov/releases/H10/hist/ .
